POST-NATAL - MUM & BABY

This specialist group Reformer class is for mums with babies who aren’t yet on the move. If all is well, you may be ready to join this class as early as 4 weeks after a natural birth and no complications. However, if you are experiencing any post-natal problems, or if delivery was by C-section, you will first need the ‘all clear’ from your doctor or physiotherapist, usually given at your 6 week check up.

This low-impact class involves restorative exercises on the Reformer using appropriate resistance to bring awareness to your mind and body. There is a focus on breath-work and the recruitment of the pelvic floor muscles, both of which are key elements to deep abdominal or ‘core’ activation. Muscle strengthening and improved mobility will also bring increased confidence and well-being, not to mention the benefits of sharing the time up with other mums and babies.

Classes are limited to no more than 6 women, across 6 Reformers. Mums are welcome to bring their babies until crawling age. The class can be attended without an Introductory Newcomer 1:1, although booking an assessment/introduction can be very helpful. Previous Pilates experience is not needed.​
